Cover Me 60s part 2

Here are the remaining romance covers that caught my eye.

I love how they’ve gone for a spatter background to lend a dreamlike quality to the picture. Notice that the artist has actually signed the work! Can you imagine anyone wanting to sign the covers for today’s new releases? I had a quick glance at new releases on Waterstone’s site and they rely heavily on photography and typography. Now last but not least, we have some Barbara Cartland never subtle always pink, what else should we have expected?!

A virgin in ParisNote how forlorn the poor virgin looks, maybe she can’t speak French. And look at the size of that Frenchman’s feet! His day job is clearly at the circus throwing buckets of silver paper at an audience.

Thanks for stopping by! I’m so glad you liked them, tomorrow (time allowing) I’ll start on the thriller covers. My Mum belonged to the 60’s ‘Romance Book Club’ and my Dad belonged to the ‘Thriller Book Club’ they’ve all got great covers.
