Bacon Custard.

There’s nothing more comforting than finding that some things in life have stayed the same, I was very pleased to discover that Bird’s custard have been around for over 60 years. I just love custard, particularly with Christmas pudding or any kind of pie. But, look at this recipe – you read that right, I was looking through some of my vintage magazines and found this advert in ‘Illustrated’ 12th March 1955, it’s got a recipe called ‘savoury cauliflower’, but if you click to see the full size image you’ll see that it’s cauliflower and bacon in Bird’s custard! This is supposed to tempt us to purchase a can of Bird’s. Let me know if you dare try it.
